The goal of the MuCAP Experiment (Muon Capture on the Proton) is the
precise
measurement (1%) of the muon capture rate on proton in the 1s-singlet
state
which in turn allows the determination of the induced pseudoscalar
formfactor
gp of the semileptonic weak interaction.
The experiment is performed by an international collaboration at the Paul Scherrer Institut
(Switzerland).
